MARY ELLEN SCANNELL, 75, of Jackson Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Mary Ellen was born in Newark, settling in Jackson Twp. many years ago.
Mary Ellen worked for the Jackson Mills Vol. Fire Department, Board of Fire Commissioners, as a secretary for 3 years.
Mary Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Mary Chesna. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas; her children, Michael, Dennis, Thomas and Julie all of Jackson Twp.; and by her 8 grandchildren.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. A public memorial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Mary Ellen to the Ocean County Animal Shelter, 615 Freemont Ave., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. The George S.
