Obituary for George J. Kurela

GEORGE J. KURELA, 85, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at CareOne of Jackson, Jackson Twp. He was born in Yonkers, NY, and resided there prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 20 years ago.
He was employed as a printer for the Newark Star Ledger, Newark, NJ, for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1994.
George was a United States Army Veteran serving as a Specialist Third Class, during the Korean War, earning the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp.
George was predeceased by his Parents, George Louis and Helen Kurela; and by his Brother, Robert J. Kurela. He is survived by his Companion, Diane Trail of Jackson Twp.; and by his Cousins, Peter Berryman of Freehold, NJ, and Joseph Berryman also of Freehold, NJ.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 209 Truman Ave., Yonkers, NY 10703.
