Obituary for Robert J. Raba, Jr.
ROBERT J. RABA, JR., 67, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. He was born in South Amboy, NJ, and resided in Jackson Twp., NJ, and Hazlet, NJ, prior to settling in Whiting, 5 years ago.
Robert was a United States Veteran, proudly serving in the Air Force.
He was self-employed as a Professional Land Surveyor with Robert Raba Land Surveying, Whiting, NJ, for 32 years prior to his retirement in 2019.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robert J. Sr. and Eileen Raba. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan Raba; his sons, Robert Raba III and his wife, Dana of Manahawkin, NJ, and Michael Raba and his wife, Krystal of Bayville, NJ; his daughter, Christina Gariepy and her husband, John of Manchester, NJ; his grandchildren, Kraig and his wife, Kaitlynne, Brett, Austin, Alex, Cassie, Ashley, and Livia; his brother, James Raba and his wife, Mary of Selma, NC; his sisters, Linda Malley of Venus, TX, Dianne Hoffman and her husband, Doug of White City, OR, and Beverly Crennan and her husband, Thomas of Whiting, NJ; and by his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial gathering from 4-7 PM on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp., NJ. Inurnment with Military Honors will be offered at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, NJ 08562. Please gather in the cemetery at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the New Jersey Land Surveyors Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 101, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514 and would be greatly appreciated.
