Obituary for Emily Palumbo
EMILY M. PALUMBO, 78, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp., NJ. She was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in Jackson Twp., for the past 55 years.
Emily was employed with the Jackson Township Board of Education, where she worked as a Custodian at the Lucy N. Holman Elementary School for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2017.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Peter J. Palumbo. Emily is survived by her son, Peter Palumbo of Jackson Twp., and his Fiancée, Kathleen M. Horowitz of Cranbury, NJ; her grandchildren, Gino Palumbo, his wife, Daisey, Paolo Palumbo, and Marianna Palumbo; her great –granddaughter, Francesca Palumbo; and by her sister, Lena LA Pointe of Keansburg, NJ.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 3-7 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM in Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Rd., Toms River, NJ 08753. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Emily’s memory to the Lucy N. Holman Elementary School, 125 Manhattan St., Jackson, NJ 08527 Attn: Principals Office, and would be greatly appreciated.
