Obituary for Josephine Ann Fornicola (Scott)

Josephine Fornicola, 86, was born in Asbury Park and resided in Jackson, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday the 16th of June. She was surrounded by her loved ones when God’s angels came to take her home.
Josephine was an expectational woman with an enormous heart of gold. She was married to the love of her life, high school sweetheart, and devoted husband Theodore Fornicola for 65 years.
Mother of three beautiful daughters Maryan Fornicola of Tinton Falls, Lynda & John Roch of Downingtown, PA, and Joy & Richard Lehmann of Jackson. All her children were proud to call this beautiful woman their mother and best friend.
Josephine was the grandmother to eleven grandchildren, Teddi & John Gugliuzza, Scott & Sally Thedwall, Alex Thedwall, John Roch, Joseph Roch, Mark Roch, Christopher Roch, Ryan & Danielle Lehmann, Courtney & Ryan Andersen, Eric & Jill Lehmann, and Kristyn & James Corey. She had a way of making each of them recognize how special and loved they are. She had a very special relationship with everyone that knew her.
Seven beautiful great grandchildren were lucky enough to call her Gigi, Riely, Rori, Zoey and Aubri Roch, Gianni and Mikayla Gugliuzza, and Ryder Andersen.
Josephine was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Joseph Roch;her parents, Henry & Fortunata Scott; her sisters, Jennie Cassidy and Rosemarie Caruso.
She succumbed to her illness after a courageous battle for many years to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Josephine’s warmth, grace, and dignity will live forever in our hearts.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to join in the celebration of Josephine’s life. Her visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 4-8pm at GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30AM on Wednesday June 20, 2018, at the funeral home. Her Funeral liturgy will follow at 9:30AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd, Jackson Twp., NJ. Her entombment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, 1000 West Chicago Blvd, Sea Girt, NJ 08750.
