LAWRENCE MICHAEL HOULIHAN, 76, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Bayonne, NJ, Hazlet, NJ, and Freehold, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp., 13 years ago.
Lawrence was a United States Air Force Veteran serving as an Airman First Class during the Vietnam War.
He was employed at Frank B. Ross Co., Inc., Jersey City, NJ, for 38 years where he was President prior to his retirement in 2001.
Lawrence was a communicant of St Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Twp., NJ.
He was a great provider and a loving, caring and generous man. He loved golf, the NY Giants, Notre Dame, Hawaii, and Atlantic City, but most of all, he loved his family.
Lawrence was predeceased by his Parents, Martin and Lillian Houlihan; his Brother, Donald Houlihan; his In-laws, Anthony and Josephine Jannuzzi; and by his Son-in-law, Robert J. Chojnacki, Jr. He is survived by his Wife of 53 ½ years, Antonia (Toni) Houlihan of Jackson Twp.; his Son, David Houlihan and his Husband, Thomas Scrudato of Florida; his Daughters, Patrice Chojnacki of Jackson Twp., and Lynn Ortiz and her Husband, Steven Ortiz, Jr., of Jackson Twp.; his Grandsons, Robert J. Chojnacki, III, of Jackson Twp., and Lucas Esteban Ortiz of Jackson Twp.; his Sister-in-law, Madeleine Dyas of Massachusetts; and by his Nieces and Nephews, James and Mandy Dyas, Jason and Joyce Dyas, Michele Houlihan, Brian Houlihan, James Dyas, Justin Dyas, Addison Dyas, and Mitchell Dyas.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow in St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Harmony Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lawrence’s memory to St. Aloysius School, PO Box 1285, Jackson Twp., NJ 08527 and would be greatly appreciated.
