Obituary for Robert Joseph Dunn

Robert  Joseph  Dunn
ROBERT JOSEPH DUNN, 87, of Danbury, CT, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and resided in Jackson Twp., NJ, before settling in Danbury, 20 years ago.
Robert proudly served with the 187th Airborne Regiment (Rakkasans), in the United States Army during the Korean War.
After the war, Robert worked for the McAllister Brothers Towing Company, New York, NY, until his retirement in1995.
He will best be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit.
He was predeceased by his Parents, Robert and Hannah Dunn; his Stepfather, Joseph P. Moran; his Wife, Marianne Dunn in 1986; and by his Sister, Elizabeth Perone. Robert is survived by his Sons, William Dunn and his Wife, Cathy, Robert P. Dunn, Thomas Dunn, Peter Dunn, and Michael Dunn and his Wife, Tracy; his Daughters, Ann Dempsey and her Husband, Jack, and Mary Dunn Randazzo; his 14 Grandchildren; his 9 Great grandchildren; and by his Long Time Companion, Mrs. Sally Connolly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9:30 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Arneytown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 171 Jersey St., Building 5, 2nd Floor, Trenton, NJ 08611 and would be greatly appreciated.
