Obituary for Virginia J. Thakker

VIRGINIA J. THAKKER, age 80, of Brick Twp., NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Brandywine Living at Reflections in Brick Twp. She was born in Manhattan, NY, had resided in Jackson Twp. and Lakewood Twp. before settling in Brick Twp. in 2012.
Virginia was a school teacher at the South Toms River Elementary School, retiring in 1999.
She earned a master’s degree in education from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
In addition, Virginia was a former communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Twp. and St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church in Howell Twp. and a former member of the Lioness Club.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Hiralal N. Thakker in 1996 and by her Daughter, Christine Thakker in 2014. She is survived by her Sons, Neil Thakker and his Wife, Linda and Jeff Thakker; and by her Grandchildren, Neil Thakker, Jr., Kyle Thakker and Cassandra Thakker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4-8 PM at The GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. A funeral gathering will be offered on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 9:15 AM at the funeral home. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood Twp. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood Twp.
