ARTHUR D. JOHNSON, 79, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp., NJ. He was born in Cassville, Jackson Twp., grew up in Freehold, and resided there until moving to Jackson 52 years ago.
Arthur was the owner of Art and Kathy’s Kitchen in Jackson for 52 years, retiring in 2016. He was a die-hard NY Yankees fan, and enjoyed horse racing, especially his horse, Coolspring King.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, George Lawrence and Janice Mae Johnson; and by his wife, Kathleen Johnson in 2013. He is survived by his son, Larry Johnson and his wife, Kathy of Delran, NJ; his daughter, Joanne Rogers and her husband, Gary of Mooresville, NC; and by his 4 grandchildren, Josh, Julia, Hayley, and Garrett.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 6-8 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, followed by his Funeral Service at 10 AM at the funeral home.
