Obituary for James John Johnson, Sr.

JAMES JOHN JOHNSON, SR., 92, of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson Twp., NJ. He was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in Hazlet, NJ, prior to settling in Jackson Twp. 18 years ago.
James was retired from Essex Wire Design, Newark, NJ.
He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving as a Radioman Third Class during WWII, receiving the American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.
James was predeceased by his Parents, John J. and Emily Johnson. He is survived by his Wife of 71 years, Thelma Johnson of Jackson Twp., NJ; his Son, James Johnson, Jr. and his Wife, Rosemary of Barnegat, NJ; his Daughter Joy Chafe and her Husband, Donald of Jackson Twp., NJ; his 4 Grandchildren, Melissa Couto and her Husband, Steve of Whiting, NJ, Tracey Clery and her Husband, Derek of Avon, CO, DJ Chafe of Freehold, NJ, and Jaime Senard and her Husband, Christopher of Lewis, DE; and by his 5 Great grandchildren, Hudson and Delaney Senard, Ryan Clery, and Alexander and Dominic Couto.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2-6 PM with his Funeral Service with Military Honors at 4 PM on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the GEORGE S.
