ALEEN L. JELLEY, age 100, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Crestwood Manor Health Care, Manchester, NJ. She was born in Honolulu, HI, on October 15, 1915. She and her family returned to California several years later. In 1936 she married her husband of 40 years Thomas “Harry” and lived in Brooklyn, NY, for many years.
Before moving to Manchester, NJ, Aleen worked as a receptionist for Dr. Markow, DDS. In Manchester, she worked for the Lakehurst Pharmacy. Mom was an avid dog lover and had given a good home to Queenie, Muggsey, Max, Hum and Ashley over the years.
Aleen was predeceased by husband, Thomas; her only sibling, Alfred LeComte; and her grandson, Steven Jelley. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Guidice and her husband, Jim of Florida, and Mary Weber and her husband, Robert of Chicago; her son, Francis “Frank” Jelley and his wife, Linda of Manchester; six grandchildren, Frank Jelley, Jr, Michael Jelley, Donna Raff, Meredith Weber, Robin Weber, Andrew Weber; and her four great grandchildren, Frank Jelley, III, Bryan Jelley, Timothy Raff, and Casey Raff.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. Her Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
